Dungeon Gourmand

Delve. Cook. Feed.

Your dragon is what you feed it, and what you feed it decides where you can go.

You are a retired adventurer keeping a hearth on the edge of the frontier, and in your care is an egg. You hire a party, send it into a dungeon, and put the phone down. Hours later it walks back in with ingredients, gold, injuries — and a written account of what happened down there.

Then you cook what they brought home, and what you cook is what the dragon becomes. The dragon flies out to find the next dungeon, and how far it can look is what decides where the next party may be sent.

An idle dungeon-crawler and dragon-raising hybrid, played in portrait in a few minutes a day.

  • Absence is the mechanic

Nothing permanent is ever lost to time. No spoilage, no decay that costs a stage, no streak that dies while you are away. The wait is the game, never the penalty for having a life.

  • The return is the story

Every expedition comes home as a Ledger — a written account generated from that run's own stored seed, so the rolls printed are the rolls that happened and the loot listed is the loot in the haul.

  • The kitchen

Ingredients become dishes, and a timing tap decides how well. Cook the same recipe often enough and mastery raises its floor.

  • Who you send

Delvers, shields, scouts and healers, hired off a tavern board that turns over every six hours. Each carries a trait, a favourite dish and a lead of their own.

  • A drawn map

The Valley, the Mountains and the Coast, with fog that only ever lifts. The dragon flies to look; the party walks to whatever it found.

  • The rules are not for sale

Money buys time and identity — a second party, a colour, a bag of Scales. It never buys a success rate, a loot roll or a skipped timer.
